Left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht has repeatedly caused outrage with statements since the beginning of the war. Now the 53-year-old has caused a stir with a post on Twitter. Wagenknecht shoots at the Greens and writes: “Restarting the coal-fired power plants shows that climate change was important to the Greens yesterday. Today, insane war against Russia is top priority for former eco-party
Wagenknecht had repeatedly relativized the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. In doing so, she often emphasized the guilt or complicity of the West and Ukraine itself. She repeatedly called for negotiations with Putin. The Ukrainians in particular reject this as long as the old territorial conditions are not restored.
The SPD member of the Bundestag Derya Türk-Nachbaur responded to Wagenknecht’s statement on Twitter: “Russia has started a brutal war of aggression. Ukrainian cities are in ruins. Ukrainian schools, hospitals, shopping centers are being bombed. In the Ukraine, women, children and old people are being killed.” And Wagenknecht speaks of a “crazy war against Russia”.
The CDU member of the Bundestag Matthias Hauer writes: “What Sahra Wagenknecht tweets can hardly be surpassed in terms of madness.” The left-wing politician operates “criminal-victim reversal par excellence” and “propaganda for war criminals”.
