If FC Barcelona have their way, Frenkie de Jong is set to join Manchester United this summer. But the Dutchman categorically rules out a transfer and shows up just in time for the start of the Catalans’ preparations.
De Jong joins in preparation: Dutchman Frenkie de Jong has ruled out a move from FC Barcelona to Manchester United after several Spanish media reports. “Caughtoffside” reports that the 25-year-old underwent the obligatory medical check-up last Sunday and then started preparing for the Catalans.
Short, compact, clear
United would be a sporting step backwards: In order to underline his vehemence against a change to ManUnited, De Jong has apparently recently compiled a list of ten reasons against a change to the Red Devils. Accordingly, the midfielder would see a move to Manchester as a “sporting step backwards” since they are not even represented in the Champions League.
Negotiations started without De Jong: The Spanish newspaper “Diario Sport” continues to write that De Jong (market value: 60 million euros) was initially surprised by the rumors of a possible change. Barcelona apparently already negotiated with ManUnited before the Dutchman was informed. The Spaniards are in dire need of money to process transfers.
