Eight Himars multiple rocket launchers are already deployed in Ukraine. Zelenskyy’s troops praise their precision and lethality. Pro-Russia war bloggers despair.

Can the Himars rocket launchers turn the tide in the Ukraine war? So far, Ukraine has received eight Himars (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) from the United States. They can hit targets up to 85 kilometers away with an accuracy of a few meters – and are already having an effect. Since the end of June, many Russian ammunition depots and command posts, often dozens of kilometers behind the front, have been exploding in the occupied areas in the east and south of the country.

This puts more and more Russia-friendly war bloggers in a bad mood. The blogger Roman Saponkow claims to have witnessed an attack with Himars missiles on the Chernobaivka air base in occupied southern Ukraine. “I’ve been under artillery fire before, but what really impressed me was that all five or six missiles hit almost the same point,” he writes on Telegram. Normally, artillery rockets would disperse over a large area upon impact.

“The Russian army leadership thought they could move the border westward city by city, but now the Ukrainian army has an antidote – it is destroying the weapons caches,” blogger Dmitryev writes on Telegram about the impact of US rocket launchers.

A British political analyst tweeted: “When assessing the battlefield impact of the recently delivered Himars, both the Ukrainians and the relatively few Russians who can speak freely say the same thing: ‘They are devastating and the Russian military just doesn’t have a counter for them.'”

Last week, the US government announced the delivery of four more Himars missile launchers to Ukraine.
