The total length of the two cable lines with a capacity of 20 kilowatts is almost five kilometers.
The Nagatinsky Zaton station of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya Metro Line was connected to the power grid. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping Pyotr Biryukov.
“Large-scale work continues to ensure reliable power supply to new objects of the city’s transport infrastructure. Specialists of the municipal economy complex have completed measures to ensure the power supply of the BCL station “Nagatinsky Zaton”. We have laid two cable lines with a capacity of 20 kilowatts with a total length of almost five kilometers, which allows us to create a reserve and avoid possible outages in case of technological disruption,” he said.
New power grids of medium voltage of 20 kilowatts allow to increase the capacity of distribution networks at least one and a half to two times and increase transformer capacity.
The work on laying cables was carried out by the method of horizontal directional drilling. This technology is used in conditions of dense urban development in order to minimize openings and not damage communications.
Earlier, several new BCL stations were connected to the power grid, including Terekhovo, Mozhaiskaya, Davydkovo, Innovatorskaya and Pechatniki.
The Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line is the world’s largest metro construction project. The length of the BCL will be 70 kilometers, 31 stations will be located here, 22 of which are already open to passengers.
