The A.V. Shchusev State Museum of Architecture has opened an exhibition of photographs of modern architecture “Moscow. Real.” The exhibition provides an opportunity to see the updated look of the capital through the lenses of the best photographers and to assess the changes that have occurred over the past 10 years.
The exhibition presents the works of architectural photographers who captured 33 iconic buildings built in the city over the past 10 years, as well as new facilities that are just planning to open. Visitors will see the House of the People’s Commissariat of Finance, the House of Culture “HES-2”, the Museum of Russian Impressionism, the Zaryadye Park and other objects.
“The architects of the capital successfully cope with the challenges posed to them by the difficult international situation, in particular, the rejection of a number of well-known architectural bureaus from Russian projects. Now our designers and builders have got an excellent opportunity to make themselves known, and I am sure that in the near future we will see many iconic objects that will occupy a worthy place in the architectural appearance of the city,” Andrei Bochkarev added.
Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov noted that the exhibition is a chance to get acquainted not only with the best examples of architecture, but also with the best photographers of our time. Visitors can look at the new buildings through the lenses of the cameras of Yuri Palmin, Ilya Ivanov, Mikhail Rozanov, Alexey Naroditsky, Sergei Ponomarev.
The exhibition “Moscow. Real” will last until September 4. You can watch it from 11:00 to 20:00 on Wednesday and from Friday to Sunday, as well as from 13:00 to 21:00 on Tuesday and Thursday (Monday is a day off).
The organizers are the Government of Moscow and the Moscow Architecture. The curator of the project is Elizaveta Likhacheva, Director of the Shchusev Museum of Architecture.
