In search of a new right-back, VfL Wolfsburg takes a look at Italy. An ex-Dortmund player who has been playing there for three years has aroused the interest of the wolves.

U21 European Champion to Wolfsburg? VfL Wolfsburg is still looking for a right-back and, according to information from “Bild”, has a former Dortmund and U21 European champion from 2017 on the list. We’re talking about Jeremy Toljan (27), who has been playing for US Sassuolo in Italy since 2019. Negotiations are already underway.

Short, compact, clear

VfL wants to push the transfer fee: There is a transfer fee of five million euros, which corresponds to the estimated market value of Toljan. However, VfL should want to push the transfer fee. The player still has a contract with the team from Emilia-Romagna until 2025. He should come to Wolfsburg as an alternative for Ridle Baku (24) and talent Kilian Fischer (21).

Bundesliga return after three years? Toljan has been a regular and leading player in his team since moving from BVB to Serie A. In his youth he played for the Stuttgart clubs Kickers and VfB before moving to the youth team at TSG Hoffenheim in 2011. After his Bundesliga breakthrough, he went to Dortmund in 2017, but was unable to assert himself there.
