Spraying each other with water pistols led to a heated argument in a Berlin outdoor pool and finally to a mass brawl of around one hundred people. The police arrived on Sunday with 13 patrol cars and part of a hundred units at the “Sommerbad am Insulaner” to calm the situation. According to the first findings of the police, two groups of four and ten people are said to have sprayed each other with water pistols in the outdoor pool in the Steglitz district around 4:25 p.m. Then an argument broke out and participants also physically attacked each other.
The situation escalated when security guards, who are common in most baths in Berlin, intervened. Eventually, around a hundred people took part in the brawl. Police identified four suspects between the ages of 15 and 23. There is now a case against them for particularly serious breaches of the peace. One of them is also said to have hit a security guard. The victim suffered minor injuries to his head and torso. Another suspect said he was attacked with a knife and his arm injuries were treated at the scene.
