We know a lot about Barbara Schöneberger: that she likes to laugh – also about herself, gets along great with Thomas Gottschalk and Günther Jauch (and is simply a real stage pig. On the other hand, we hardly know anything about her family. Her husband, entrepreneur Maximilian von Schierstädt, as well as their two children (born in 2010 and 2013) she keeps strictly out of the public eye, normally, because in the new episode of her podcast “With the waffles of a woman” she gets in a good chatting mood – and reveals to her guest Bettina Zimmermann (and us), then a little something from her private life, namely that her children are actually not at all interested in her job.

If you zip through the television programs on Saturday evening, you can hardly ignore Barbara. Not only because the Munich-born TV hits like the “ESC” preliminary decision or “Do you understand fun? “ moderated, but simply because – well, because Babsi is Babsi. Always top styled, always a snappy saying on the lips, always in a good mood. Her confession in the latest episode of her podcast is all the more astonishing: “I think it’s so nice that my job doesn’t matter at all to my children.” For her daughter and her son, she’s just a mom. And mums shouldn’t be asked questions like “Are you wearing a nice dress?”, but rather “Are you there today? Or are you not here today? What is there to eat? Do you have to leave tonight or are you leaving tomorrow?” Sounds wonderfully normal. And when the Schöneberger offspring do watch TV, Mama’s shows aren’t among their favourites.

“Mom, I’m sorry, we were watching ‘ The Voice Kids ‘” is a saying that Barbara apparently hears quite often: “because I always run on Saturday nights”. It seems as if the presenter’s success is at home not play too much of a role. And the 48-year-old made a conscious decision to do so, as she recently explained in her podcast. For example, she does not want her daughter and son to talk to others about money or even brag about it. That “Learning to be modest is very important to her. “You don’t talk about what you have,” is the upbringing principle of the Berliner-by-choice. She also wants her children to understand that the wealth of their prominent mother does not automatically belong to them “I think you have to tell them very clearly that it has nothing to do with you.”

What is presenter Barbara Schöneberger’s beauty secret? Focus Online asked Munich medical specialists.

Even if the result is sometimes not perfect: “I’ll leave it like that for now,” is Barbara Schöneberger’s motto. However, this does not apply to her appearance, as the presenter revealed during a photo shoot. Schöneberger helps here, with everything “that is somehow legal”.

How does it work in the Schöneberger house? Barbara mostly keeps her personal life private and rarely talks about her children. But now she reveals that she has a certain upbringing principle: she raises both of them strictly to modesty.
