Benfica’s mega deal with Liverpool perfect: Benfica announces the transfer of star striker Darwin Nunez to Liverpool FC. The Portuguese club announces that they have agreed a transfer fee of at least 75 million euros with Liverpool. For Lisbon, this is the second biggest sale after Joao Felix to Atlético.

Short, compact, clear

Nunez can cost 100 million euros: The price for the Uruguayan striker can rise to around 100 million euros with bonuses, as Benfica themselves explain. Should this sum really be reached, Nunez would be the new record transfer in Liverpool. Virgil van Dijk is currently the most expensive purchase at almost 85 million euros.

Nunez to replace Mané: Nunez, 1.87 meters tall and 22 years old, was the most recent top scorer in Portugal, scoring 26 goals in 28 games this season. Benfica bought the striker themselves from Almeria two years ago for 24 million euros. At Liverpool, he is seen as a replacement for Sadio Mané, who wants to move to Bayern Munich.
