The club has gloriously climbed back into the Bundesliga, but behind the scenes at FC Schalke 04 there is still a lot going on. At the general meeting, the fans punished the board.
No relief: Many members of FC Schalke 04 have clearly expressed their displeasure with the work of the board and the supervisory board of the club in 2019 and 2020. The executive and supervisory boards of these two financial years were not discharged at the general meeting on Sunday in the corresponding votes.
Short, compact, clear
Revolt of the fans: Previously, a member had called for non-exoneration on stage and suggested examining whether former board members could be held personally accountable for mistakes. The 2019 board included Christian Heidel, Alexander Jobst, Peter Peters and Jochen Schneider. In 2020, the committee consisted of Jobst, Peters, Schneider and Christina Rühl-Hamers.
More confidence in the new board: The board responsible for 2021 with Rühl-Hamers, Schneider, Jobst and Peter Knäbel was relieved. Officially, 4,338 members were present in the Veltins Arena, of which 4,238 were entitled to vote. Not everyone voted.
