The capital has prepared a new measure of support for the tourism industry, which will help stimulate the growth of profitable and diverse offers for older travelers. Tour operators organizing trips to the capital for citizens over the age of 55 will be able to partially compensate their expenses at the expense of the city.

To receive compensation, you must apply for payments from September 1 to September 21 (for trips organized from June 1 to August 31 this year) or from December 1 to December 21 (for tours that will take place from September 1 to November 30, 2022). Applications are accepted here, in the “Support” section forms of necessary documents and contacts for consultations are posted. The ANO “Project Office for the Development of Tourism and Hospitality of Moscow” will consider applications and make decisions on them.

The basic amount of compensation will be one thousand rubles for each tourist aged 55 and over. At the same time, the amount may increase depending on the duration of the traveler’s stay, the category of the hotel and the number of excursions, cultural, sports and other events that he will attend.

In order to receive compensation, the operator will need to comply with several requirements: a program lasting at least two nights must take place in Moscow, and guests must arrange accommodation in a hotel of at least three stars.

Compensation is provided only in accordance with the accounting documentation confirming the conduct of a tourist trip. The application and the package of necessary documents must be submitted for consideration within the time limits specially defined for the application campaign. They will be examined by an expert commission. If a positive decision is made, then a contract will be concluded with the applicant and an act will be signed on the basis of which the payment is made.

The Mayor and the Government of Moscow are working to ensure that the capital remains attractive and accessible to travelers from other cities of Russia and various countries. Support measures are being taken to help businesses develop tourism.

For example, in April of this year, Sergei Sobyanin approved the procedure for allocating grants to support business and youth tourism. Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who organize business events in the form of conferences, congresses, forums, corporate business meetings (MICE – meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) lasting at least two days will be able to receive a grant from the city budget to partially compensate their costs for renting premises and technical equipment.

Similar financial support will be available to the organizers of international, All—Russian and regional events in the field of youth tourism, the purpose of which is to popularize scientific knowledge, healthy lifestyleand life, cultural and national traditions, the development of creative, professional and intellectual potential, as well as civil-patriotic and spiritual and moral education. This also affects competitions among talented and initiative youth.

The maximum amount of reimbursement for each event in the field of organized youth and business tourism is 10 million rubles. Acceptance of applications for grants for support will begin on June 6. To find out what other types of assistance industry representatives can count on, follow the link.
