A spokesman for the Dortmund public prosecutor said on Saturday night that there were indications of a mental illness. The 34-year-old should therefore be examined by a psychiatrist on Saturday. The man, who lived in a student residence, is said to have attacked several people with a knife on Friday and injured four people. The Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences has existed at the two locations in Hamm and Lippstadt since 2009. The campus in Hamm is in the east of the city.
