Several people were injured in a serious accident in Oberhausen. According to initial police reports, a tram collided with a bus. There’s a big operation going on.

A person was seriously injured in a collision between a tram and a bus in Oberhausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Thursday. Six other people suffered minor to moderate injuries in the collision, a spokesman for the fire department said. 33 other victims were also given emergency pastoral care at the accident site.

A police spokesman spoke shortly after the accident on Thursday of “about two dozen minor and serious injuries”.

Officials searched the scene of the accident for other injuries. The accident happened on a high route for buses and trams, which the spokesman estimates is about ten meters above the roadway for other traffic at the scene of the accident. One picture showed a badly demolished tram front and the broken rear part of an articulated bus.

A vehicle crashed into a crowd near Breitscheidtplatz in Berlin-Charlottenburg. One person was killed and 14 people were injured, some of them life-threatening. A suspect was arrested.
