A batch of “Mühlenhof minced beef for roasting” is being recalled because it contains mixed minced pork and beef instead of minced beef. The item will be distributed via Penny markets in Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Bremen and parts of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The company WestfalenLand Fleischwaren GmbH from Münster is recalling minced meat “for reasons of preventive consumer protection”. The company announced on Tuesday that it was “Mühlenhof minced beef for roasting”, 500 grams in a tubular bag with a best-before date of June 12, 2022. The reason for the precautionary recall is a false labeling: The item is reported as minced beef, but contains mixed minced pork and beef.
Products with different best-before dates or batches are not affected by the recall. The item will be distributed via Penny markets in Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Bremen and parts of North Rhine-Westphalia. Customers could return the product in the store and get a refund of the purchase price, even without presenting the receipt.
