The Mega Zoff between Robert Lewandowski and FC Bayern continues. Only the Munich react to the attacks of the Poles. But just a few hours later, Lewandowski spoke up again. The striker renews his change request.
Next chapter in the dispute between Bayern and Robert Lewndowski. The Pole had presented the day before and fired sharply against the Munich team. Bayern reacted and once again made their position clear. But it only lasted a few hours before Lewandowski spoke up again.
First of all, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic told the “Bild” newspaper: “Robert Lewandowski called me today. Among other things, we also talked about his public statements. I clearly explained our position on his contract situation to him.”
Salihamidzic also made it clear: “Herbert Hainer, Oliver Kahn and I have said several times about his desire to change, so I would like to leave it at that.
Lewandowski’s reaction was not long in coming. The Pole now comments in an interview in the “Bild” newspaper and once again makes his wish to change clear: “I still have a contract for a year, so I asked the club for permission to change. I think it’s the best solution in this situation, especially since the club can still get me a fee. I would get the chance to take on a new challenge at another club for a few more years. That is my wish. I have a contract, but I also tried to make it clear to the club how I feel.”
When asked about Bayern not letting him out of this contract, the striker replies: “I respect FC Bayern and its rules. But changes, especially after such a time, are part of the life of the club and the player. I hope that doesn’t come across as selfish.”
Lewandowski is also asking for the fans’ understanding: “I know that there are a lot of emotions today, but I hope that the fans will understand me at some point. I’ve always tried to do my best for FC Bayern to meet the expectations of the team and the fans. I appreciate the Bayern fans, they have always supported me. If I wasn’t honest about my situation, I would feel like I wasn’t being fair to the fans.”
Curiously, Lewandowski has repeatedly expressed himself in various media in recent weeks, but now sees the wrong way to go about it: “Certain statements are often distorted or exaggerated. I want that to end: the emotions have to cool down, I want to speak calmly, not through the media. I know that a conflict makes a lot of headlines. But FC Bayern and I are not enemies.”
Again and again Robert Lewandowski expresses himself in public. Already on Monday, the striker repeated his wish to change in clear words in a podcast of the Polish sports portal “Onet Sport”: “I’m leaving because I want to have more emotions in my life. They didn’t want to listen to me to the end. Something in me is extinguished. And it’s impossible to ignore. Even if you want to be professional, you can’t make amends.”
Lewandowski does not believe that Bayern will prevent a change: “Why? What kind of player would want to come to Bayern when he knows that something like this could happen to him?”
Lewandowski wants to go to FC Barcelona and hopes for a timely solution: “I think it will be best to find a good solution for both sides and not to look for a unilateral decision. That does not make sense.”
The next round in the Lewandowski chaos. The Pole insists on a quiet change. But those responsible for Bayern don’t want to know anything about it at the moment.
According to newspaper reports, Liverpool FC has rejected an offer from FC Bayern Munich for top star Sadio Mané (30). Apparently it was too low.
Meanwhile, there is no end in sight to the tug-of-war between FC Bayern Munich and top striker Robert Lewandowski. Now teammate Thomas Müller is clearly positioning himself for a change of the world footballer.
Ex-FC Bayern President Uli Hoeneß (70) insists on contract fulfillment by Robert Lewandowski (33). He is even calm about legal tricks.
