The Federal Ministry of the Interior wants to fill a highly paid State Secretary post before the summer break. The controversial SPD woman Sawsan Chebli could also want to access it. The decision is urgent and the head of the house, Nancy Faeser, could leave her ministry as early as next year.

Top job in the Federal Ministry of the Interior to be filled urgently! The house of SPD woman Nancy Faeser is currently looking for a successor for the retired State Secretary Helmut Teichmann. According to the “Bild” newspaper, there are already first candidates or, above all, female candidates for the office responsible for migration and civil protection. The job is well paid – a monthly salary of 14,985 euros beckons in the intended salary class B11. Calculated over the year, that’s almost 180,000 euros.

The Berlin police chief Barbara Slowik and the ex-state secretary of the Berlin Senate, Sawsan Chebli (SPD), are currently to be traded. According to “Bild”, a “woman from Rhineland-Palatinate” should also be up for debate. It is unclear who is behind it.

Slowik was controversial when she started as Berlin police chief, as she had previously had little contact with the police as an administrative lawyer.

Chebli is currently without a top position, until December 2021 she was State Secretary for Civic Engagement and International Affairs in the Berlin Senate Chancellery. Chebli is known for her polarizing and exaggerated statements, in 2018 she received a shitstorm for wearing an expensive Rolex watch.

And the rumor mill makes Chebli’s application explosive: Nancy Faeser’s top candidacy in the state elections in Hesse in 2023 has been discussed for weeks, not least fueled by SPD ministerial colleague Christine Lambrecht. The self-confident Chebli even wanted to inherit Faeser as Minister of the Interior, reports the “Bild”.

The personnel for the post of State Secretary is pressing. It should be clear by the summer break who will succeed Teichmann. Because of the switch to staff structures as a result of the Ukraine war, the rapid occupation was said to have been neglected.

The party’s vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Boris Johnson has failed. In the end, only 148 MPs voted against Johnson, with 211 voting to continue to have faith in Johnson. This means that he can retain the party leadership and subsequently also the office of prime minister.

Gunhilde Köhler is 74 years old, retired and has now sued the federal government. The reason: the 300 euros energy flat rate that all employees get – but not pensioners.

The rising prices are becoming more and more noticeable and are leaving their mark accordingly. In April, the strongest sales slump ever measured was recorded in the food trade. The trade assumes that low-income people in particular can afford less.
