FC Augsburg seems to have found what they were looking for in the youth division of BVB when they were looking for a successor to Markus Weinzierl.
Successor: Enrico Maaßen (38) is to succeed Markus Weinzierl on the coaching bench at FC Augsburg, as reported by “Bild”. Maassen most recently coached the second team of Borussia Dortmund in the 3rd division.
Spoiled by success: Maassen started his service in Dortmund in 2020. He managed to get promoted from the regional to the 3rd league right away. As a climber, the sovereign relegation followed in ninth place.
Desires: That’s why other clubs had also expressed an interest in Maaßen, most notably Greuther Fürth and Arminia Bielefeld, who had been relegated to the Bundesliga. For Maassen, however, it is now going directly to the Bundesliga.
