Ukraine lose a dramatic 1-0 game to Wales, who qualify for the World Cup again after 64 years. There is also a Russian hacking attack on the Ukrainian online site broadcasting the game. All information in the ticker log.
Wales: Hennessey – Ampadu, Rodon, B. Davies – Roberts, Ramsey, Allen, Williams – Bale (83. Wilson), Moore, James (71. Johnson)
Ukraine: Bushchan – Karavaev, Zabarnyi, Matviienko, Mykolenko – Yarmolenko, Malinovskyi (70. Shaparenko), Stepanenko (70. Sydorchuk), Zinchenko, Tsygankov (77. Mudryk) – Yaremchuk (77. Dovbyk)
1: 0 Yarmolenko (34./ET)
Halftime: That’s it for the first half! Ukraine came into the game strongly and were fully into the game. The Welsh came on after 20 minutes and took the lead in the 34th minute thanks to a deflected shot from Bale. Yarmolenko was the unlucky one who headed the ball in the goal.
45 minutes: The Ukrainians are back in the game! Two corners fly into the Welsh penalty area. Hennessey remains uncertain. Both goalkeepers are clearly the weak points of their teams today.
41 minutes: Wales lucky! Yarmolenko pokes the ball off Allen’s foot. The midfielder hits the Ukrainian on the foot. The penalty whistle remains. The VAR reports, but referee Lahoz does not whistle.
40 minutes: Ukraine registers again! Zinchenko checks Hennessy from a distance. The goalie has problems on the soapy course, but fends off the ball to the side.
37 minutes: Wales have been the leading team for the past 20 minutes and are now deservedly leading. Bale goes for the next free kick. This time the 32-year-old crosses, but finds no buyer.
34 minutes: TOOOR for Wales! What a crooked thing! Bale takes a free-kick on goal, Yarmolenko heads the ball into his own goal.
23 minutes: The Ukrainians are no longer as dominant as they were in the early stages. Wales squeeze the East Europeans into their own half and keep their foot on the gas.
18 minutes: As in the playoff semi-finals on Thursday in Scotland, the Ukrainian goalie Bushshan made two mistakes in his penalty area. The 28-year-old does not exude great security.
16 minutes: The Welsh let the ball run, but act very statically. Hardly any space gain for the home team dressed in red.
12 minutes: Ukraine is the better team overall. Zinchenko drives his team through the middle. His finish from 20 yards goes just over the Welsh case.
7 minutes: Lots of steam in the game! Wales are also pushing the pace, not just letting Ukraine push them into their own half.
3 minutes: The early lead for Ukraine! No, not! Zinchenko’s free kick had not yet been released.
2 minutes: early yellow card! Allen mounts violently against Zinchenko.
17:59: Here we go in this charged atmosphere.
17:56: The players enter the lawn. As at the game in Scotland, the Ukrainians enter the pitch with a flag draped over their shoulders.
Welcome to the live ticker from FOCUS Online! In Europe there is still a ticket for the World Cup up for grabs! The Ukrainians, battered by the war at home, meet Wales in Cardiff
Wales – Ukraine

The war in their home country has been raging for over 100 days – but the Ukrainian footballers are resolute and focused ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier in Wales. Star player Oleksandr Zinchenko emphasized that it was no longer about “condition or tactics” so close to the big dream of the World Cup, “but about survival”.
After a difficult few months, only Wales stands between Ukraine and their sporting dream, only one win is missing before participating in the World Cup finals in Qatar. “We will do everything to make the Ukrainians proud,” promised national coach Oleksandr Petrakov before the showdown on Sunday (6.45 p.m.) in Cardiff. They all want to provide a little ray of hope in dark times.
Ex-FC Bayern President Uli Hoeneß (70) insists on contract fulfillment by Robert Lewandowski (33). He is even calm about legal tricks.
Meanwhile, there is no end in sight to the tug-of-war between top striker Robert Lewandowski and FC Bayern Munich. Now teammate Thomas Müller is clearly positioning himself for a change of the world footballer.
Serge Gnabry is currently preparing for the Nations League games with the German national team. In the back of my mind, however, there are still thoughts about the faltering contract talks at FC Bayern. After Robert Lewandowski, Gnabry is now also indicating what his bosses are currently missing.
