Resident of the special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” has begun to build another data center specializing in working with big data. This was announced by Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.
The area of the data center will be about 850 square meters, the capacity will be approximately 2.5 megawatts with the placement of 132 racks. It is planned to create 27 jobs here.
Big data analysis is needed to better understand the audience and preferences, make predictions for future behavior and reactions, and identify patterns. This helps to optimize the activities of commercial organizations and increase the comfort of citizens thanks to smart city technologies.
“The resident of the information and communication cluster of the capital SEZ provides big data storage, processing and analysis services to customers from any areas where computing power is required to work with big data. Among these areas are urban digitalization, video analytics, machine learning, digital advertising, studying the audience and its preferences,” said Gennady Degtev, General Director of Technopolis Moscow SEZ.
By the beginning of 2022, companies in the capital’s SEZ have invested more than nine billion rubles in the creation and development of data centers. They serve tens of thousands of clients and employ over 300 specialists.
The Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone, subordinated to the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, includes five sites. One of them is in Printers, four more — “Alabushevo”, “Micron”, “MIET” and “Angstrom” — in Zelenograd. Their total area is 223.3 hectares.
Special support measures are provided for residents. For example, they are exempt from paying property, transport and land taxes, as well as customs duties. The income tax rate for such enterprises is only two percent. There are also benefits for the lease of land allocated for the construction of the enterprise, after which you can buy the leased land for one percent of the cadastral value.
