Three people were killed in a shootout on the street in the US metropolis of Philadelphia on Saturday evening (local time).
Eleven other people were injured, the police said. There were several shooters. The incident reportedly happened on a street known for its lively nightlife.
A total of 14 people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, police said. Of them, two men and one woman were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. All three suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Police officers reportedly shot one of the perpetrators. However, it was initially unclear whether he was hit. Two guns were also found at the South Street scene, police said. The investigation is in full swing and there are “a lot of unanswered questions”.
