Tuesday, May 31, 9:33 a.m .: Bad news for the start of the Pentecost holidays this weekend: According to our TWC weather expert Jan Schenk, everything looks like severe thunderstorms. It is not yet possible to predict exactly where and when the thunderstorms will occur. But it will probably hit the south and east in particular. And the thunderstorm situation will continue – Saturday, Sunday and maybe even Monday there will be severe thunderstorms again and again. According to current forecasts, even supercells are possible. So it could really crack again. The weather models exceptionally agree on this.

5.48 p.m .: After the hailstorm in the Allgäu, the German Weather Service warns of severe thunderstorms in southern and western Germany.

The temperatures on Tuesday and the two following days are between 17 and 23 degrees.
People from the southwest up to Brandenburg have good prospects of sun on Wednesday, where it will remain sunny and dry for a long time. Otherwise the weather will be changeable, from Emsland to the Baltic Sea there can be isolated thunderstorms again. On Thursday it will also be clear and dry south of the low mountain range. Dense clouds are increasing towards the north, there it is raining again and the wind is picking up.
5:26 p.m .: The thunderstorm situation in Germany relaxes a bit. There are now hardly any circles colored red in the DWD warning weather map. Still, thunderstorms are possible further west and south. The situation is only supposed to calm down during the night.
With the thunderstorms, however, the warm summer weather also moves away: in the next few days, the 20 degrees will hardly be reached.

Individual showers are also possible, but there are also longer dry phases – with cooler temperatures of a maximum of 17 to 20 degrees. It’s going to be similarly changeable on Wednesday.

However, the next low could cause renewed thunderstorms on Monday. The warning situation report of the DWD states that from Monday afternoon, starting in the west and southwest and later extending east-northeast, thunderstorms with a risk of severe weather from heavy rain and hail are to be expected. Heavy gusts of wind up to 100 km/h and hurricane-force gusts of around 110 km/h cannot be ruled out.
