Hertha BSC is strengthening its regional league team with a 25-year-old goalscorer from league rivals Berliner AK. The special: The new man is a real celebrity in the social networks.
New attacker on a free transfer: Hertha BSC signs Nader El-Jindaoui for his second team. The 25-year-old played for the Berlin AK 07 in the Regionalliga Nordost last season, which ended up one place ahead of Hertha’s reserves. With 14 goals and ten assists from 35 games, Nader El-Jindaoui was the BAK’s top scorer.
Short, compact, clear
Social media star trumps Hertha: Away from the football field, the 25-year-old is already a familiar face. With around 1.6 million followers on Instagram, El-Jindaoui has almost seven times as many followers as Hertha. More than a million users also follow him on YouTube, whom he entertains with information about his life.
Financial freedom thanks to followers: The salary at Hertha should be more of a side income for him, because with a view to his lucrative social media activities, he said last year: “I have less pressure now because I’m no longer financially dependent from football.”
