The developers behind the popular messenger WhatsApp currently have some innovations up their sleeves. As the always well-informed blog “WABetaInfo” reports, they want to give users the option of restoring deleted messages in the future. If you press “Delete for me” on a message in WhatsApp in the future, it will disappear, but an info bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.

There you have the option of returning the message via an “Undo” button. This should work even if you delete the message for all chat participants. However, this option only exists for a few seconds. So users have to make a quick decision to restore.

So far, however, this WhatsApp feature is still in internal development. It may be weeks or months before a final version is available. Then the feature should have gone through enough test cycles to arrive smoothly with WhatsApp users.

Just a few days ago, “WABetaInfo” discovered that WhatsApp wants to further optimize chat messages and give users more options. Users then have the option of editing them even after they have been sent. You can read more about this from our colleagues at CHIP.de in this article on WhatsApp’s innovations.
