During a video switch between Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) and his country colleagues, Hamburg’s Health Senator Melanie Leonhard (also SPD) strengthened herself with a KitKat chocolate bar. This fact caused Karl Lauterbach to be horrified, reports the “Bild” (although without naming a source).
He reprimanded Leonhard for eating the candy and gave a presentation on the unhealthy ingredients.
According to the report, the health minister colleagues reacted as follows: At the next switch, they demonstratively pushed sweets into their mouths. Bavaria’s Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) is said to have held the label of his coke bottle in front of the camera.
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) is currently preparing a strategy with the federal states for an expected increase in infections in the colder season. In addition to a new vaccination campaign, test rules and the use of medication, this should also include renewed changes to the Infection Protection Act, which expires on September 23.
