Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 70th throne anniversary. There will be celebrations across the UK from Thursday to Sunday. A special gift for the horse-loving monarch comes from France.
France’s head of state Emmanuel Macron gives the British Queen Elizabeth II a horse of the Republican Guard on her 70th anniversary of the throne. The seven-year-old stallion Fabuleu de Maucour is representative of French breeding with his elegance, his harmonious shape and his good mentality, the Élyséepalast in Paris announced on Wednesday.
The sport horse from north-eastern France is the offspring of two show jumping champions and accompanied Macron on the boulevard Champs-Élysées for the first time in early May. Fabuleu is given away along with a cavalry saddle, bridle and a saber. The Élysée Palace left open when the horse-loving Queen Fabuleu will be seen.
In addition to gifts, Macron also wants to honor the Queen’s jubilee with several gestures. In autumn, 70 hornbeams are to be planted at the British memorial site for the Normandy landings in Ver-sur-Mer. Individual northern French municipalities want to light up public buildings in red and blue and Macron wants to reignite the flame at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Thursday.
