The German national player Antonio Rüdiger praised his coach Thomas Tuchel in the highest tones shortly before his departure from the English Premier League club FC Chelsea.
On a par with top stars: Even though Antonio Rüdiger is leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid in the summer, the central defender has a warm word for Thomas Tuchel, who is still boss: “For me, he is a phenomenal coach. He’s on a par with Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp,” Ruediger told The Times newspaper.
Proud of manager: Chelsea can be very proud of their manager, especially how he managed things in difficult times. The British government had imposed strict sanctions on Chelsea because of the closeness of current owner Roman Abramovich to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The club is now to be sold to American Todd Boehly, co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team.
Stay true to the mentality: He hopes, said Rüdiger, that the mentality in the club will change, to fire a coach if there is no success. A process can be seen under Tuchel. He himself does not remain loyal to the project: Rüdiger is moving to the Spanish champions Real Madrid for the new season.
