Borussia Mönchengladbach is looking for a new coach after the departure of Adi Hütter. Lucien Favre could celebrate a sensational comeback there at his old place of work. Is he the right one to solve Gladbach’s problems?
Coach question still unresolved: The search for a new coach is in full swing at Borussia from Gladbach. The favorite is now the Swiss Lucien Favre (64), as the kicker reports. Favre was already a coach on the Lower Rhine from February 2011 to September 2015. Adi Hütter’s successor in Gladbach should be found by May 30th – just in time for the general meeting.
Construction sites in all areas: The new coach has a number of tasks in Gladbach. On the one hand, the squad has to be renewed and a suitable game idea has to be established. On the other hand, reconciliation with the fans and improving the internal climate are on the agenda. Favre could be the one for that.
Disappointing season: The course of the past season is sobering from Gladbach’s point of view. Missed international business, lost both derbies against 1. FC Köln and conceded a total of 61 goals. Only Hertha from Berlin and Greuther Fürth had to concede more goals. As in other areas, there is room for improvement here.
