Colorado State modified the contract of Niko Medved, the basketball coach at Colorado State. This would allow him to continue as the Rams’ basketball coach through the 2028-29 season.
The announcement of Medved’s deal came as the Rams discovered that they would be making their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2013 – just as Medved was about to announce it. The sixth-seeded Rams will take on No. On Thursday, the Rams will face No.
Since Medved’s 2018-19 season, when they were 12-20, the Rams have been steadily improving. Colorado State is currently 25-5 and is led by Mountain West Player-of-the Year David Roddy.
The school also amended Medved’s contract and increased the salary pool for basketball staff. Medved will be eligible for bonuses for winning 20 or more games against Division I rivals ($40,000), winning the conference regular-season title ($75,000), winning the tournament championship ($75,000), qualifying to the NCAA Tournament ($100,000.) and winning NCAA Tournament ($200,000).

Medved was an assistant longtime at Colorado State. After that, he spent four seasons at Furman as the head coach and one at Drake before returning to Fort Collins.
