According to reports, at least one person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting that took place in Portland on Saturday night. At least two other people were taken into custody.
According to FOX 12 of Oregon, the gunfire occurred around 8 p.m. PST near Normandale Park in Northeast Portland.
Protesters gathered at the park to protest the killing of Amir Locke (22-year-old Black man) in Minneapolis earlier in the month. FOX 12 reported that it was not clear if the protest and Portland shooting were connected.
OregonLive.com reported that the victim was a woman and that three women and two men were among those who were wounded. The report said that their medical conditions weren’t immediately known.
Reports said that the circumstances that led to the gunfire are not yet clear.

As of Saturday, Portland had witnessed 15 homicides in 2022. 14 of those victims were killed in shootings. FOX 12 reported.
