Boston Celtics’ Enes Kater Freedom condemns China for human rights violations, treatment of Peng Shuai
Eneskanter Freedom is a Boston Celtics player. He recently changed his last name from “Freedom” in honor of becoming a U.S citizen.
Freedom said that she felt every major American league should follow the WTA’s lead and took examples from FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo.
Freedom praised the tennis organization’s “amazing” response against the Chinese government in the Peng Shuai controversy, and for placing “morals and values and principles” above currency.
“Everybody knows she isn’t safe. She is not free to speak. She is not allowed to travel. The NBA player said that China’s Communist Party wants to control her story.
Star of the Boston Celtics, LeBron James, has vocally criticized China’s human rights violations.
Freedom even took the protest to court wearing custom shoes that called out Nike’s dealings with China and protested the 2022 Olympic Games set to be held in Beijing.
He encouraged his teammates in athletics, including LeBron of the Lakers, to condemn the Chinese government’s aggression against its citizens.
Freedom stated, “We must be the voice for all those innocent people out here who don’t get a voice, and that platform is given by God.”
Despite Enes Kanter freedom’s courage and admiration, no U.S. corporation has endorsed the NBA player and social activist despite his pro American stance.
“I think they are too scared. Freedom stated that she had not heard from them since Freedom appeared on the “Mornings With Maria” show.
All I care about are these corporations “standing up for what’s right.” He said, “That’s all that I need and I want.”
