The head of North Ossetia Sergey Menyailo presented awards to North Ossetian athletes and coaches who distinguished themselves at the XXXI Summer Olympic and XVI Paralympic Games held in Tokyo. According to the press service of the Government of the republic, the athletes were awarded a medal “For the Glory of Ossetia”.
– Congratulations on the high result. Each of you has been working hard to achieve these achievements for a long time. We here in Ossetia were very worried and rooting for you. You are our pride! North Ossetia has a high reputation as a sports region, which has given the country a whole galaxy of titled athletes – champions and medalists of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, and you are their worthy successors. I wish you new victories, success, and health! – Sergey Menyailo emphasized at the award ceremony.
Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling Zaurbek Sidakov, Olympic bronze medalist in freestyle wrestling Artur Naifonov, Olympic bronze medalist in judo wrestling Madina Taymazova received their awards from the hands of the head of the region.
Also, the medal “For the Glory of Ossetia” was awarded to the champion of the Paralympic Games Albert Khinchagov and the bronze medalist of the Paralympic Games Chermen Kobesov.
In addition, the award was awarded to coaches Totraz Archegov, Pavel Dzhioev, Elbrus Dudaev, Boris Koroev and Vladimir Koroev.
