Alexey Shatalov, CEO of IT-Jurist, told RT whether Facebook users risk losing their data due to a malfunction in the social network.
“I would have no illusions about data security. If they have to leak, they will definitely leak,” he said.
According to Shatalov, if the failure generates any leaks, “then they will affect everyone.”
“There is no technical way to prevent this here. If a person deletes information from a page, it will still be stored on servers for some time,” he stressed.
Instagram Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users in several countries of the world have previously reported failures. After that, the NASDAQ stock index fell by more than 2.3% as of 21:00 Moscow time.
Facebook specialists are working to eliminate network problems. The White House is monitoring the situation.
