The festival of memory of the writer has become a landmark city tradition, and this year it was held for the fifth time. As for the perpetuation of Glasha, her image is made of metal. Moreover, there are two metal signs: one has found a place next to the monument to the writer, the second-in the square named after him. There is also a third image of a fox terrier-a cardboard layout. He was placed in Dovlatov’s legendary room in a communal apartment in a house on Rubinstein Street.

These days there were numerous excursions to places associated with the name of Dovlatov. Including the apartment on Rubinstein Street, which, as in the writer’s time, is still communal and densely populated. Today, six families live in it. It is not yet possible to turn it into a full – fledged Dovlatov museum: it is necessary to buy the area from the inhabitants of the apartment, and the approximate price for it is 50 million rubles. So for now, Dovlatov’s admirers have rented the writer’s room, creating an unofficial museum of Soviet life in it. But the writer’s museum appeared in the Pushkin Mountains, where Dovlatov’s admirers bought a small village house in which the writer lived while working as a tour guide.

For the anniversary of the writer, the city has prepared a special program of theatrical productions, exhibitions, lectures, concerts. For three days in the city center, on the Palace and Admiralty embankments, you could listen to the works of Sergei Dovlatov (they were broadcast using a distribution sound system). And celebrities read them. For example, Maxim Vitorgan read the collection of short stories “Suitcase”, and Efim Shifrin read “Solo on IBM”. And the most spectacular event of the “D-Day” was “Singing Bridges”: on the night from Friday to Saturday, the Palace Bridge was built to the “Dovlatov soundtrack” – jazz compositions of the 1960s and 1970s in a symphonic version…
