Louis van Gaal has been appointed head coach of the Netherlands national football team. This is the third time he has held this post — he previously led the team in 2000-2001 and 2012-2014. According to the press service of the Royal Netherlands Football Union, the contract with the coach, who turns 70 on August 8, is calculated until the end of the 2022 World Cup.Under the leadership of Louis van Gaal, the Netherlands national team won bronze at the 2014 World Championship. During his coaching career, he worked with Ajax (1988-1997), Barcelona (1997-2000, 2002-2003), AZ (2005-2009), Bayern Munich (2009-2011) and Manchester United (2014-2016). In March 2019, he announced his retirement.
