Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev revealed serious omissions in the work of the Kamchatka Territory police during a trip to the Russian region. This is reported on the agency’s website.

It is noted that in this regard, it was decided to dismiss Maxim Mitrofanovsky, deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kamchatka Territory, from his post.

During the trip, Kolokoltsev also held a meeting with the heads of the regional department and the heads of the territorial bodies of internal affairs. He listened to the reports and identified a range of problems that will be solved in the near future.

Among the tasks, the Interior Minister named, in particular, ensuring public order and the safety of citizens during the preparation and holding of a single voting day, as well as organizing active interaction with election commissions, local authorities and law enforcement agencies.

On July 20, it was reported that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, dismissed General Sergei Shchetkin, the head of the Stavropol central department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The decision was made after a special operation to detain Alexey Safonov, the head of the traffic police department in the Stavropol Territory, and a number of his subordinates in the case of organizing a criminal community and bribery. Earlier in the day, it became known about the initiation of a criminal case against Safonov, as well as six of his accomplices.
