Since getting the full-time newcomer for the Chiefs at 2018, Mahomes has turned into arguably the best quarterback in all football
Tom Brady has nothing but positive things to say about Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Since becoming the full-time newcomer for the Chiefs at 2018, Mahomes has become arguably the best quarterback in all of football.
Last season, Mahomes threw for 4,031 yards with 26 touchdowns and just five interceptions, but he was able to direct the Chiefs beyond the Tennessee Titans in the AFC title game, and eventually defeated the San Francisco 49ers from the Super Bowl. Mahomes was honored as Super Bowl MVP.
Mahomes is on the road to greatness. And Brady, who’s currently known as the best quarterback of all–time, understands that Mahomes is just going to get better for many years to come.
“I think he is only raised from that point on [because 2018],” Brady said of Mahomes. “I think that he was the MVP of this league, and the year after that, he came back got off to a fantastic start, dealt with some injuries last year… But he battled through that. He didn’t have the same statistical year since he had in 2018, but he moves onto win Super Bowl MVP. That’s an amazing accomplishment.”
Brady continued:”To win MVP in’18, to win the Super Bowl in’19, and then this season have the kind of year that he had, which is probably more like this year that he had in 2018. I simply think he’s going to keep advancing. I really don’t know him that well, I understand clearly quite a few people that do know him, and they say fantastic things about Pat [Mahomes], and the days that I’ve been around him, I really enjoyed the moment.”
Brady says the mark of any great athlete is”coming through in the clutch” And he thinks Mahomes is already off to a fantastic start in his career.
“He’s got a great maturity about him,” Brady explained. “He’s a great leader. He has great charisma. Again, I think it consistently speaks a lot once the players that he plays say great things about him. Plus it looks like all those guys on the Chiefs, they adore that Pat’s the chief. He’s got a great relationship with his receivers. I think that always says a lot. I believe there is a lot of things which make him a great player. He’s got the capacity to focus when the moments are the biggest, and also to deliver for his team.”
Brady along with the Buccaneers will square off against Mahomes along with the Chiefs in a showdown for the ages on Sunday night.
