For parents of first-graders propose to introduce special paid holiday on 1 September. The proposal to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova has addressed the head of the Institute of progressive education Anna Marx.
It is noted that a special survey showed that among 1.6 thousand parents of the 75 regions, 56% of participants expressed the intention to conduct the child to the first lesson. Even more parents – 83% – said that they need to take time off or unpaid leave for these purposes. Also, a quarter of respondents said that they want to negotiate with the employer about how to start the day on a few hours later. While 37% of parents responded that they have no opportunity to take time off from work.
The appeal noted the psychologists who consider the presence of parents in the line 1 September is very important for inner peace child (especially first graders).
“In view of the foregoing, in order to preserve the tradition of celebrating the Day of knowledge, as well as rapid adaptation to new educational environment of children for the first time, going to school, we ask you to consider the possibility of implementing a labour law rule granting an additional paid day off to parents of first-graders September 1,” – an excerpt from the appeal of RIA "news".
