About the record heat in one of the coldest parts of Russia told in Hydrometeorological centre of the country. In August on the archipelago of Severnaya Zemlya, which is North of the Arctic circle, the daytime temperature exceeded the norm by 15-20 degrees.
“On the archipelago a few days ago, recorded a temperature of 17.6 degrees. For cold areas it’s incredibly high numbers. It is usually there at this time can be from zero to plus three degrees”, – quotes the Novel Vilfand RIA Novosti.
Recall, this summer in Yakutia Verkhoyansk, also known as the Northern pole of cold, was recorded temperature record +38 degrees. Experts explain such a fast increase in warming in the Arctic, which is twice faster than the global average.
