In the main fight of the UFC for the most prestigious title in the heavyweight division met the owner of this belt American of Croatian origin Stipe Miocic and US-born Daniel Cormier. This fight was the third between them. In the first early victory was won by Cormier, however, in a rematch of success was on the side of working firefighters Miocica. And also the battle did not last the allotted 5 rounds.
Cormier longed for revenge. However, the favourite was still not him. In the first round there was absolutely equal struggle, and the hardest had the judges who had to decide who won. Initially, the second round also was held without a favorite, but in the end after a powerful shot Miocica Cormier was saved from a knockout only by the Gong. In the third round, both opponents are tired. Miocic began increasingly to make a “hug” with Cormier at the net, but with his advantage the battle took place.
Cormier was hoping just for a knockout. He has tried to conduct the coup de grâce, but Miocic was ready for it. Though he from time to time passed very heavy blows.
In the last round Cormier intensified, but the strength to win by TKO he was not. Miocic answered punches and when the opponent was dangerous, then again turn on the “hug”.
At the end of the fight all three judges gave the victory 37-year-old Miocic, who defended the title of champion. His score was 20 wins and three defeats. 41-year-old Cormier is 22 wins and 3 losses.
