The Ambassador of Russia in Belarus in the years 2006-2018, Alexander Surikov has declared that does not exclude expenses in the work of election commissions in the presidential election. About it reports “Interfax”.
The Russian diplomat noted that President Alexander Lukashenko won a large percentage in the elections and won by a landslide. However, in his opinion, it is possible that the electoral Commission felt the desire to curry favor with the government, and there were certain costs in their work.
Surikov also believes that Lukashenka is associated in people with the stability of the country. He explained that the Belarusians do not want a repeat of the same opposition of action and to seize power by force, as in Ukraine, Syria or Libya.
Earlier ally of the candidate in presidents of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovski Maria Kolesnikova turned to the people and the authorities of the country. Kolesnikov called on the authorities not to ignore the will of the people, not to drown it in water from the water cannon, not stun grenades, not maim with bullets, not to beat her with a baton. According to her, the streets are ordinary people who want change.
According to the official data of the Belarusian CEC, in the elections of 9 August Tikhanovski received more than 10 percent of the votes, incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko more than 80 percent. In the country two days passed and the protests and clashes with Riot police. Authorities said the thousands of detainees and dozens injured. It confirmed the death of one demonstrator.
