The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov in conversation with the foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei handed over to the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko congratulations on his election victory, said on Monday the press service of the foreign Ministry of the Republic.
Telephone conversation Makei and Lavrov took place on Monday.
"Mackay told my colleague about the outcome of the last campaign on elections of the President of Belarus. Lavrov, in turn, asked to convey his congratulations to the acting head of state", – stated in the message.
Presidential elections in Belarus took place on 9 August. According to specified data of the CEC, Lukashenko in the elections gaining 80,08% of the vote. He has led the country for over 26 years.
