At night on August 13 will have a peak the most popular and brilliant star of the year – meteor shower the Perseids, it will be able to observe and residents of the capital, said the press service of the Moscow planetarium.
“This means that under favorable weather conditions and the lack of urban exposure, starting at midnight and all night can be observed up to 110 meteors per hour, or 1-2 meteor per minute”, – stated in the message.
It is worth looking at from North-East to the border of the constellations of Perseus and Cassiopeia. The glow of some meteor lasts a few seconds.
Perseid meteor shower happens every year from July 17 to August 26, and active it from 5 to 23 August. The peak of activity in 2020 will occur on August 12 from 16:00 to 19:00 Moscow time.
