Company Twitter claims about obstacles to the work of the service in Belarus. This was reported in the official microblog of the company.
Currently in Belarus there are blocking and interference to Twitter, stated in the message. The company stresses that such a response to the protests against the election results is a violation of fundamental human rights and principles of an open Internet.
Presidential elections were held on 9 August. After the polls closed in several cities of Belarus, began an unauthorized protest during which police used tear gas and stun grenades. According to the latest information of the CEC, incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko scored 80,08% of the votes, and Svetlana Tikhanovski — 10,09%.
