Central election Commission of Belarus announced the preliminary results of voting in the presidential election. For the incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko voted 80,23% of voters, his main rival Svetlana Tikhanovski of 9.9%. The turnout was 84,23%.As have informed in a course a press-conferences the head of the Belarusian Central election Committee Lidziya Yarmoshyna, against all candidates voted of 6.02%. She noted that the presented today the preliminary results of the elections are unlikely to change.”Lukashenko Alexander Lukashenko voted for him 4 million 652 thousand, or 80,23%”,— said the head of the CEC. In the voting participated 5 million 790 thousand.Presidential elections in Belarus took place on 9 August. After the end of voting in the country the protests began. Ms. Yarmoshyna said that at about 01:00 local time (coincides with Moscow) the staff of the CEC involved in the counting of votes, were evacuated from the House of government in Minsk. The interior Ministry announced that control of the situation. During the crackdown has been applied to the machinery. The human rights center “Viasna” reported at least 140 detainees. The investigative Committee of Belarus opened a criminal case on the fact of mass riots and violence against police.
