Google is in the period from April to June 2020 has blocked more than two and a half thousand Youtube channels related to China and the Russian Federation, in the framework of the fight against misinformation. This is stated in the company blog, reports RIA “Novosti”.
The report says that from April to June was blocked 2596 channels associated with China. In the greater part of them have been spam and non-political content, however, there were channels with a political agenda. In particular, it provided the materials for the suppression of COVID-19 in the United States and protests against racial discrimination.

In the same period, Google has blocked 90 Youtube channels that are associated with Russia. According to the company, in part because they contained information in Russian and English about the EU, Lithuania, Ukraine and the United States. Other channels were made in Russian, German and Farsi about Russia and Syria and the US response to COVID-19, as well as information about the internal policy of the Russian Federation and international issues.
In addition, were blocked for 20 channels regarding Iran.
