Russian forward of “Carolina” Andrey Svechnikov repeated the achievement of legendary Wayne Gretzky, having a hat-trick in the qualifying match of the playoffs against the NHL “Rangers” (4:1).
Svechnikov became only the eighth player under the age of 20 years, who scored three goals in a single match playoff. Gretzky is the only person this could double.
Thanks to effective actions by the Andrew placed some more achievements. He is the first ever “Carolina” made a hat-trick in the match of the playoffs and became the only Russian who managed to score three goals in the Stanley Cup 21 years.
