Russia “pay the price” if confirmed, her alleged collusion with a terrorist group “Taliban” (banned in Russia). This was stated by Advisor to the U.S. President for national security Robert O’brien.
According to him, if Russia indeed had taken any malicious action against American soldiers in Afghanistan, then it will have to answer for their actions. He stressed that in Russia already know this from my experience. While O’brien noted that the public may never know what kind of price paid Russia for their decisions.
Earlier, the Pentagon denied reports about collusion and of Russian intelligence with the Afghan militants. The representative office Jonathan Hoffman said that the Ministry of defence had found no evidence of rewards for killing Americans.
The New York Times on 26 June, citing intelligence reported that the Russian military intelligence secretly offered to pay for the killing of American soldiers in Afghanistan. Thus, Moscow allegedly wanted to disrupt the peace negotiations, the U.S. and the Taliban, says the publication.
In Russia, the accusations are called unfounded. The accuracy of the information was difficult to confirm and various American agencies: not all of the U.S. intelligence community believes the evidence is sufficiently convincing.
