The President of Russia Vladimir Putin congratulated the personnel and veterans of the airborne forces on their professional holiday and the 90th anniversary of the creation of the airborne forces.
“You are rightly proud of the glorious history of the legendary "airborne infantry," the names of its founding fathers, equal to their predecessors and elders, who always decided to honor the task, when conducting special operations and peacekeeping missions have demonstrated the highest level of training, indomitable spirit and mutual assistance,” – said in greeting heads of state.
Putin expressed his special appreciation and gratitude to the Marines who fought in the great Patriotic war.
