He voiced the main theses of the report called “Historical revisionism in the Balkans – lessons from history”, which on this occasion was prepared by the authoritative in the Balkans, historian, Dean of the philosophical faculty Dredge Mastilovic. Given the significance of this research in the pursuit of objective and reliable picture of the past “the Russian newspaper” publishes it with minor cuts:
“In the background of manifestations of historical revisionism is always a desire to revise the results of certain historical processes, not the historical facts themselves, which in this case become only a tool of the revisionists to achieve their main objective. Did recent attempts to revise the responsibility for the outbreak of the First world war was not a prelude to attempts of revision of the Second world war? Is she the Second world war was not an attempt to revise the results of world war I? And unless events in Europe, especially in the Balkans since the 1990s to the present day, are not attempts to revise the results of the First and Second world wars?
That is why today only nesveduyuschih may wonder active participation of some Western powers, especially Germany, in the destruction of Yugoslavia in the 1990-ies, as well as the fact that today the map of South-Eastern Europe begins to resemble a map created by Hitler in 1941. All this is done for senseless achievements of the struggle against fascism not only in the Balkans but throughout Europe. Active role in this process was given to the “humanitarian” aid NATO bombing of Republika Srpska and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the persecution of hundreds of thousands of Serbs in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Metohija, destruction of Serbian national identity and outright terror against the Serbian Orthodox Church; and in the case of Macedonia and Montenegro – is the capture of the Serb cultural heritage; and, of course, the mad revisionist history that, among other things, implies a reckless replacement of the concepts of fascists and anti-fascists in the Balkans.
That’s why the mystification and falsification of history on the territory of the former Yugoslavia has now reached almost unbelievable proportions. Historiography has become openly politically engaged and consciously aimed at the violent formation of the collective consciousness of entire Nations. Thus, this parasitologiya more dangerous than generally believed because it is aimed at the education of entire generations, tense imposed, constructed consciousness, which politicized or fanatically religious; are aimed at shaping perceptions of the past that are in constant conflict with the basic truth, and sometimes with common sense.
when we are talking about the former Yugoslavia, one should take into account another phenomenon, closely connected with the historical revisionism, the attempt to write “history” in advance with the Hague Tribunal. There is no doubt that the actions of the Hague Tribunal in recent times are not only a desire to consolidate the new geopolitical situation in the Balkans, but also a new way of falsification of historical facts. Fixed persistent attempts of the Hague Tribunal “officially” to declare the Serbs the main culprits of the bloody wars in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990-ies and even the organizers of the genocide. They are combined with the desire to grant Amnesty and to justify the role of the Western powers in the destruction of Yugoslavia, as well as the crime of genocide of Serbs in world war II committed by the Third Reich of Hitler and his loyal allies and satellites, such as the Independent state of Croatia.
in summary, it can be argued that resistance to revising the historic events of world war II – is defending the achievements of the struggle against fascism in Europe. We cannot allow the struggle against fascism and the enormous sacrifices our people have lost the meaning.”
