The recent attack on the Twitter accounts of American celebrity stood a group of young people from the US and the UK. This became known to the newspaper The New York Times.
According to the publication, hackers communicated with each other in the messenger Discord, and they were headed by someone with nick Kirk. He argued that working in the social network and has internal access to user accounts.
As reported by the NYT, they managed to contact with four members of the hacking that stated that they do not know about their leader. According to them, that Kirk hacked the accounts of celebrities. He deduced and funds from the purse, where the victims were sending bitcoins.
It is noted that the user of the Kirk were not widely known in the hacker community to attack. Even other hackers who worked with him, his identity remained unknown. All participants in the burglary met shortly before the start of the operation.
For the implementation of the transaction the participants of the break-in relied its share, the newspaper said. In addition, these operations showed that Kirk has access to Twitter. So, he could quickly change basic security settings for any user and send a photo of the records from the internal systems of the social network as evidence that he is in control of the account.
One of the sources did not disclose his identity, but said he lives in USA and he is about 20, and his friend hacking said that he was 19 years old, he lives in the UK with my mother.
